2005 in Review

I did one of these last year on Xanga. I provide a brief synopsis of each month with some analysis. Enjoy.

January: Spent New Year's with my friends Dan, Rex, Rob, and Merrill at Merrill's house. Played a lot of Mario Tennis. Nothing else of great importance happened that month.

February: Started it off competing for a scholarship against Dutch women taller than me at Trinity Christian College for a weekend. Somebody forgot to tell the Dutch that the Germans are the superior race. Heh, I lost. Got a doozy of a cold. Decided to tough it out and go to Turnabout to sort of right a wrong I felt I had committed. Didn't go well at all. Girl I went to see at the dance wouldn't dance with me. Such is life. The only highlight of the month was going to the dentist and being reassured by him that I was at the "head of the class".

March: Began to watch my sister's track meets. Good times. Got me out of the house. Began to get harrassed by friends of the girl who wouldn't dance with me. Not my fault. Was at lowest weight of the year (183 pounds). Was pompous online to Jessica and probably caused irreparable damage to an already-fragile internet friendship. Maybe I was right, though.

April: Turned 18. That was cool. Grew a totally awesome beard that I'm still proud of. More track meets. Created my first MySpace account

May: Graduated high school. Started searching for jobs. Returned to TPHS the day after graduation for some "unfinished business". Shaved beard off. Had grandparents' 50th anniversary party in which my cousin Andy and I had to wear purple bow ties.

June: My graduation party. Awesome stuff. More job searching. Had interview at American Eagle. Didn't get job. Haven't shopped there since.

July: Best month of summer. Went to Six Flags with my sister and cousin. Went to Sr. High Camp for the last time as a camper. Renewed acquaintances with Kristen and met the totally awesome Rach and Kim. I let them put glitter on me and call me "Moonbeam". No Hoover or Jessica at camp, but the glories of the Andres Experience made up for it. I got a car (2005 Chevy Cobalt). More job searching. Was offered a job at Famous Footwear but declined.

August: Finally decided on ONU for college. Started classes. Got job at Super Target in Tinley. My friends left me, making me sad. I deleted my first MySpace account and created a new one.

September: Started work and got into swing of school. First MySpace fan club got deleted. Created Facebook and got a girl to block me for calling her a pretentious snob. Returned to TPHS for Homecoming game and saw old friends.

October: Store finally opened, creating many long nights during the Sox playoff run. Grew beard again, but I was not as proud of it as my first one. Parents' 25th. Heidi and I bought them a TV, an adventure in itself.

November: Thanksgiving. Love it. Saw cousin's play at school and bought him disgusting Jones Soda in commemoration of his fine work. More school and work. Wore all black to church one Sunday.

December: Found old camp friend on MySpace. Finished first semester strong. Lot of work. Got in and out of trouble at work for something not my fault. Different Christmas than usual. Got to spend time with returning friends.

Well, that was my year. Oh, and the HGA was decided. Message me to ask me about that. 2005 was quite a run. Help me make 2006 much better!
